METRO (IRRESISTIBLE) 

Coffee Packaging

Objective

Metro approached me to design coffee packaging. 

Problem 

Metro wanted me to design packaging for both Rainforest and Espresso coffee. The issue was that they needed both packages to be similar, except for the main label which had to be different. They wanted something like Starbucks' packaging, with illustrations, but at the same time, they wanted it to be unique. In addition, they wanted everything to be very organized. They provided me with a bag mock-up and brand guidelines for me to check their style. They also wanted an irresistible logo that needed to be positioned at least 25% on the color (CAB19B) they specified. 

Solution 

For the packaging, we decided to go with small illustrations all over the package that represented the moods and feelings that people experience when they take their first sip of coffee, such as happiness, excitement, and calmness. To differentiate the labels, we chose green for the Rainforest typography, as it represents the rainforest, and black for the Espresso typography, as it represents the dark part of the espresso. To add more details to the background, we used illustrations of coffee beans. Finally, we placed the Irresistible logo at the bottom of the package, covering at least 25% of the specified color. However, the project was ultimately approved with a different design. Sometimes the best work doesn't make it, but this time it was rejected.

TYPOGRAPHY

Bahnschrift

For the font, I selected Bahnschrift because it provided a clean, organized, and simple style, as required by the project. It allowed me to switch between different variations, from thin to thick. It can be used for a wide range of multipurpose design applications, such as signage and promotional products, while maintaining the brand guidelines.
